SANKTA HELENO, Jan 3 – The Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Daisy Morgan, is set to travel to Clammingen to meet with the Tigellêahisc King Boniface this evening after the People’s Security Committee confirmed an exchange of airsoft fire with Tigellêahisc forces close to the kingdom’s capital.
The PSC reports that Sovaĝo personnel stationed on the Bærnwudu Road came under fire at around 10:00GMT this morning, marking the first direct hostile contact between Sovaĝo and Tigellêahisc forces since the beginning of the security presence on New Year’s Eve. No casualties or losses were reported on either side in the resulting skirmish, however two weapons – understood to be Tigellêahisc standard issue Double Eagle M401s – were seized during a subsequent security operation.
The Commissioner for Foreign Affairs has since reported that a temporary ceasefire agreement has been reached to prevent further escalation, and that a meeting with King Boniface has been scheduled for 18:00GMT this evening in the Sovaĝo-controlled port of Clammingen. The Commissioner reported that they were hopeful that the talks this evening could lead to a diplomatic resolution to the situation, which began after Tigellêahisc security forces dispersed a pro-democracy demonstration in the capital of Feormehâmburh. The Sovaĝo government has dismissed Tigellêahisc claims that the protests were staged by the PSC.
